Valencia Murphy started her career at M-Tech, and agreed to help frame SPD after the incident in Ohio, where her husband and child were killed. She later realizes that M-Tech was wrong and SPD was justified in their choice, and she is given the chance to join SPD as a Lt. Commander, third in command of Solaris station. From there, she accepts the offer of first officer on the Hermosa. After discovering her son had survived the attack in Ohio and was alive, it is believed that Valencia retired from SPD.
