Early Life
Asia is involved in an accident of some kind, which left her seriously injured. Most of the left side of her body had to be replaced with biosynthetic implants. Her synthetic arm provides her additional strength, and her ocular implant allows her to see things most people cannot. Her implant also came in handy in Phantoms pt. III as it was able to lower force fields in the CaAn detention center.

SPD Career
When SPD's ranking system was changed, Admiral Myers on Corysis station promoted her to lieutenant in the D-Squad. She would later come to serve as Serenity's "right hand" (equivalent to first officer) on board the Astro Omega Ship, but is later replaced by Lt. Commander Nik Martin as Asia chose to work more in the infirmary. After the events of Truth and Purpose, Asia began to feel pressured by her obligation to the future; being told not only that she had to have a child who would later to grow up to be Serenity, but who she had to have the child with. She later accepts her role in history when Serenity points out that the timeline has changed, so none of it is written in stone. Asia does eventually show interest in Lt. Martin, and after Serenity sacrifices herself in Closure, Asia and Nik officially become a couple. She also agrees to serve as his "left hand" and Nik's first officer after he is promoted to leader of D-Squad.
